Bin Zhang is currently preparing his Habilitation in German linguistics at TU Dresden, which qualifies scholars for a full professorship in the German academic system. He earned his PhD at the University of Göttingen with a dissertation on conceptual metaphor and construction grammar, examining figurative meaning and usage patterns in Chinese and German. His research sits at the intersection of cognitive linguistics, constructionist approaches, metaphor theory, media discourse and multimodality, and language education policy in multilingual and migration-affected contexts.
